Oak Park Moms and
Tots Program Details
The following programs do not require pre-registration
and you can join in at anytime. We require a yearly fee of $45 per family for
those that are able. Everyone is welcome!
All programs are at our centre at 2530 Sixth Line, Oak
Park Neighbourhood Centre at the corner of River Glen/Glenashton & Sixth Line,
unless otherwise stated.

BABY RHYME TIME
Tuesdays 1:15 to 2:45 year round
This is a program with stories, songs, rhymes and playtime
for parents and their children Newborn to 18mths old. Meets at our centre except
for the last Tuesday of every month when we meet at Post Inn Village 203

TODDLER TIME
Thursdays 9:30 to 10:00 from September to June for children 18mths to 3
years old. Join us to have fun as we learn new toddler skills to get ready for
preschool

Wednesdays 10:30 to 11:30AM
September to June for children 3 to 5 yrs old Join us to
learn classroom routines and skills to Prepare for school.

Kids Have Stress Too!, CARE -Respect Education
Program (helping children develop respect for themselves, and boundaries) ,
Managing Challenging Behaviours and parent support group for parents of children
with Learning Differences.
Numerous parenting courses based on request by our
members. Courses have included First aid, child care choices, transitioning to
school, general parenting, dealing with challenging behaviours, and assisting
families in setting up playgroups in their local community.
CHILD DEVELOPMENT RESOURCE CENTRE
Resources and support for children with learning
differences and developmental delays or concerns. Lending resources, activities
and books, information and referrals.
CHOICES© Children's Social Skills Program
Direct Teaching program for children ages 4 & 5
with learning differences. Incorporates drama, art and role play to develop
effective communication skills, problem solving and friendships.
CHOICES FOR FAMILIES - Fridays1-3pm A
social skills class for parents and their children. Siblings are welcome to
attend this program. This program incorporates drama, art and role play to help
children understand the core components of the program. The core components
include: communication, problem solving and friendship building.

CLASSROOM CONNECTIONS-
For
children that require additional support in the areas of language development,
sensory integration and social skills. The programs are intended to provide
opportunities for children to develop the necessary skills to be successful at
school in a supportive and inclusive environment. The program elements will
include: literacy, numeracy, science and the development of social skills.
A direct teaching model that supports the development of skills that children
require to learn effectively in classroom environments will be the primary
method of instruction in the program. There will be a maximum of 8
children in the Classroom Connections 1 program.
Three program formats are available in the Classroom Connections series.
The programs will run for 8 weeks and the sessions will be offered in the
following formats. Families may register for more than one program. Program Fee:
8 weeks Classroom Connections $184 (there will be a class on Tuesdays
1-3 for children only and on Thursdays 1-3 for for parent child

CONNECTING
TOTS Play Group
is a parent-child play group for children, ages 3-5 with language,
communication, social and/or sensory processing difficulties. It is facilitated
by a Speech-Language Pathologist and a Behaviour Consultant. The sessions
will include developmentally appropriate structured activities and time for free
play. Limit of 6 children per class. Monthly sessions are on Thurs.at

GET READY FOR SCHOOL/PRESCHOOL
